Yaşamı
Kingsley, Scarborough, Yorkshire'de doğmuştu ve Pendlebury'de büyüdü. Salford Üniversitesi'nde öğrenim gördü. Daha sonra Lancashire'da şimdiki Ben Kingsley Tiyatrosu'na ev sahibi olan Pendleton Koleji'nden eğitim aldı. Babası Harji Bhanjisi Kenya asıllı Hint bir tıp doktoruydu, annesi Anna Lyna Mary kısmen Yahudi bir model ve aktrisi.
Özel yaşamı
Kingsley'in, dört çocuğu var. Thomas ve Jasmine Bhanji, aktris Angela Morant'la, Edmund ve Ferdinand Kingsley, tiyatro yöneticisi ve oyuncu Alison Sutcliffe'yle olan evliliklerinden oldu. Kısa bir süre önce Alman asıllı Alexandra Christmann ile boşandı. İngiltere Spelsbury'de yaşıyor.
