Kariyeri
Broadway'de tiyatro oyunlarında oynadıktan sonra; 1930'da Hollywood'a taşınır ve Universal Studios ile çektiği ilk filmleri başarısız olur. 1932'de Warner Brothers'a geçen Davis, burada büyük başarılara imza atmış, 1935'te Dangerous'da oynadığı rol ile oskar kazanmıştır. 1937'de kontratından özgür olmak için açtığı dava oldukça ilgi çekmiş; kariyeri de bu dönemde yükselişe geçmiştir. 1938'de Jezebel'de oynadığı rol ile oskar kazanan Davis; 1940'ların sonuna kadar Amerikan sinemasının en başarılı oyunculerinden biri olarak gösteriliyordu. Amerikan Film Institute tarafından verilen Lifetime Achievement Award (Ömürboyu başarı ödülü) kazanan ilk kadın olmuştur. Dört kez evlenen Davis, 1989'da kanser'den ölmüştür.
1935, 1938, 1939, 1940, 1941, 1942, 1944, 1950, 1952, 1962 yıllarında 10 kez oskar ödülüne aday gösterilmiştir. Katherine Hepburn ve Meryl Streep ile beraber; 10'dan fazla oskar ödülüne aday gösterilmiş 3 kadından biridir.
