Shen Kuo
Shen Kuo veya Shen Gua (Çince: 沈括; pinyin: Shěn Kuò; Wade–Giles: Shen K'uo) (1031–1095), geleneksel ismi; Cunzhong (存中) ve Mengqi (ya da Mengxi) Weng (夢溪翁),[1], birçok bilim dalında başarılı (polimat), Song Hanedanlığı (960-1279) döneminde yaşamış Çinli bilim insanı ve devlet adamı. Bilimin ve devlet idaresinin birçok alanında etkin olan Shen; bir matematikçi, astronom, meteorolog, jeolog, zoolog, botanikçi, farmakolog, ziraatçı, arkeolog, etnograf, haritacı, ansiklopedist, general, diplomat, hidrolik mühendisi, mucit, akademisyen, maliye bakanı, hükûmet devlet müfettişi, şair ve müzisyen idi. Song Hanedanlığı'nın Astronomi alanında baş yetkilisi olan Shen bunun yanı sıra İmparatorluk Sağlık işlerinin de başkan yardımcısı idi.[2]
