Deep house, house müziğin bir alt tarzıdır.[1] Başlangıçta Şikago house ile 1980'lerin caz funk'ının karışımıydı[2] ve soul müzik dokunuşları içeriyordu.[3] Bu tarzdaki şarkıların uzunluğu genellikle 7 ve 10 dakika arasındadır, tempoları ise 120 ve 130 BPM arasında değişebilir.[4] Bu tarz çoğu kez house müziğin akustiği gibi hissedilebilir ancak bu daima geçerli değildir.[5]
