Botanikçi, botanik denilen bitki bilimi uzmanı olan bilginlerdir. Taksonomiyle ilgilenen ve takson yazarı olan botanikçilerin adları Uluslararası Botanik Adlandırma Koduna (ICN) göre keşfettikleri/tanımladıkları/adlandırdıkları takson ile birlikte kullanılır ve genellikle yayım yılı ve tam soyadı ya da bir kısaltmayla gösterilir.
