Claus von Bülow

Claus von Bülow (doğum adı: Claus Cecil Borberg; 11 Ağustos 1926 - 25 Mayıs 2019), Danimarka doğumlu İngiliz sosyoelit, hukukçu ve eleştirmen.[1]

Yaşamı

1979'da eşi Sunny von Bülow'u aşırı dozda insülin vererek öldürmeye teşebbüs ve tıbbi yardım sağlamamakla komaya girerek yaşamını bu şekilde sürdürmesine sebebiyetle suçlandı. [2] Claus von Bülow 'un ilk davada mahkûmiyet alması beklenirken görülen ikinci davada suçlu bulunmayarak aklanmıştır. [3]

Aynı davada, 1980 yılında insülin aşırı dozuyla eşini öldürme teşebbüsü nedeniyle, hayatının geri kalan süresinde kalıcı bitkisel yaşam durumunda bıraktığı için mahkûm edildi, ancak ilk yargılamadaki mahkûmiyeti geri çekilerek ikinci duruşmasında beraat etmiştir.[4]

Claus von Bülow aynı zamanda iş adamı J. Paul Getty'nin arkadaşı ve kişisel asistanıydı.[5] Eşi Sunny von Büllow yıllarca koma halinde yaşadıktan sonra 2008 yılında ölmüştür.

Klaus ve Sunny Baudelaire karakterlerinin yer aldığı sinema filmi A Series of Unfortunate Events 'da Claus von Bülow ve Sunny von Bülow çiftinin yaşamı ve cinayet teşebbüsü olayı konu edilmiştir.[6]
