Manes

Manes, Herodot'a göre Maeonya (Lidya)'nın ilk kralı.

Zeus ve Gaia'nın oğlu olduğu söylenir.[1][2] Okeanos'un naiad kızı Kallirhoe ile birlikte oldu ve bu birliktelikten oğlu Kotis dünyaya geldi.[1][2]

Herodot Tarihi'nin bir bölümünde Manes'in oğlunun adı Atis olarak geçer.[3] Fakat eserin bir başka bölümünde Manes'in oğlu Kotis ve torunu Asies'ten bahsedilir.[4] Yaygın görüş ise Kotis'in Manes'in oğlu olduğu, Atis ve Asies'in de Kotis'in oğulları olduğu yönündedir.[2][5]
