Peygamber İsa'nın çarmıha gerildiği sırada annesi Meryem'in çektiği acıyı anlatan ilahi.Marc-Antoine Charpentier, Joseph Haydn, Giovanni Pierluigi Da Palestrina,Domenico Scarlatti, Antonio Vivaldi, Giuseppe Verdi, Francis Poulenc ve Giovanni Battista Pergolesi,((Gioachino Rossini)) gibi daha birçok besteci bu ilahinin metni üzerine besteler yapmışlardır. Özellikle Pergolesi'nin bestelediği meşhurdur.
