Crass

Crass, 1977'de kurulan[1][2] anarşizmi siyasal bir ideoloji, bir yaşam biçimi ve direniş hareketi olarak destekleyen bir İngiliz sanat topluluğu ve punk rock grubuydu. Crass, punk kültürünün anarko-punk hareketinin yaygınlaşmasını sağlamıştır ve doğrudan eylem, hayvan hakları, feminizm, faşizm karşıtlığı ve çevreciliği savunmaktaydı. Grup, albümlerinde, ses kolajlarında, fanzinlerinde ve filmlerinde DIY etik anlayışını kullanmış ve savunmuştur.

Crass, Londra Metrosu'na ve reklam panolarına grafiti mesajları yazmış, işgal evlerini koordine etmiş ve siyasi eylemler organize etmiştir. Grup, siyah ve askeri tarzda kıyafetler giyerek ve Haç, Gamalı Haç, Union Jack ve Ouroboros gibi otorite simgelerini birleştiren bir sahne fonu kullanarak ideallerini dile getirmiştir.

Grup, punk kültürünü[3] ve genel olarak gençlik kültürünü eleştiriyordu. Bununla birlikte, geliştirdikleri anarşist fikirler punk müziğinin varlığını korumuştur.[4] Crass, teyp kolajları, grafikleri, konuşulan kelime sürümleri, şiir ve doğaçlama kullanımlarından dolayı avant-punk[5][6][7] ve art punk ile ilişkilendirilir.[8]
